How did I spend my Saturday precious weekend?
Sunday, August 31, 2008
12:59 AM Woke up earlier than usual to leave home with dearie as he has to go to work. Since I have to go for my Jap lesson, and reaching there early, went for my breakfast at coffeebean and while walking to the counter, saw dearie favourite dog, Golden Retriever and took a picture for dearie to see..was a huge cute friendly dog but I am afraid of dogs so don't dare to get close to the dog. Here's the picture:- Proceed to my Jap lesson after breakfast. And after lesson ended, went to meet Iku-chan to watch Japanese Film at National Museum of Singapore by the title, "Shara" directed by Kawase Naomi but this round I find the film so so..not as nice as the one I watched with Rie-Chan. But well, at least we enjoyed one another company chatting away after the film. And at the same time passed her the mooncake which I bought for her and her husband, and in return Iku-chan bought me yummy food from Japan nicely packed in a beautiful box too and also gave me box of well-packed ingredient to make green tea ice-cream as she knows that I am trying to made them. いくちゃん, ありがとうね. She needs to be back home to take care of her dog hence got to leave after that. And where did I go thereafter? Another favourite place of mine :) Daiso at Plaza Singapura as I need to help my colleague some food stuff which I recommended and she love it. Here's picture of what I bought:- Thats all for now..to be updated again. Stay tune. Labels: Daily ~ 毎日何おします? 主の恵みわたしたち有難いです!

It's olden traditional style according to my colleague. Bought some for my parent in law and my parent and bought some for Iku-chan to try too. Some of the picture snapshot below:- Later in the evening, meet up with both Yiling & Cecilia @ Orchard. We were so busy throughout the night, from shopping at Isetan Supermarket to buy some ingredients to window shop for Agnes B item but then realised that they were closed for an event. We were rushing for time as Cecilia managed to make a reservation table @ Sun & Moon in Wheelock place for dinner at 8.30 pm. So the 3 of us were like running here and there :D And finally after all the rush, we can sit back and enjoy a nice dinner @ Sun & Moon. 10:51 PM After work, took a bus down to National Museum of Singapore to meet Rie-chan as we planned to watch the Japanese film which was one of the film shown for Japanese Film Festival from 22 to 31 Aug 08. Rie-chan was there around 5 plus in the evening as she was on leave and she was there early to collect the entry tickets although it was free admission but by first come first serve basis. Thanks Rie-chan for collecting the tickets so that we can watch them. Iku-chan was supposed to join us but she couldn't make it in the end. The film that we watched was by the title "Actress" as directed by Ichikawa Kon which started to screen from 7.30 pm and ended at 10.00pm. Long isn't? But was quite an interesting film and plus it was my first visit to the National Singapore Museum too =) Details as extract from website:- http://sfs.org.sg/jff2008 ACTRESS 1987, Japan, 130 min, Colour, 16mm, PG Directed by ICHIKAWA Kon A tribute by a fine director to a great actress. Actress “is fascinating in its ambition and its enthusiasm. And [lead actress Sayuri] Yoshinaga’s shy yet steely performance is a quiet tribute to the woman she plays.” - The New York Times We proceed to have our dinner at killney Kopitiam and had a fruitful time catching up and chatting away. Saturday Lunch @ Sushi Tei Paragon & Sunday Dinner with Dearie
Sunday, August 24, 2008
10:51 PM After my Jap lesson on saturday, both my classmate,Sabrin & myself went to Isetan Agnes B to check out some items and thereafter walk to Paragon Muji to purchase some stuff. Since its lunch time, we decide to have lunch together for the first time =) Where did we have our lunch? Its Sushi Tei in Paragon which is always long que too. Would you wait for it if you need to be in a long waiting list? Personally I would say it all depends whether if its worth the wait? Is the food really nice? What about you? This round, we waited for about half an hour and below are the food which we had ordered:- Overall food review quality was pretty alright and I like the sliced beef wrapped with enoki mushroom the best ~ 美味しい過多です And what did I had for my dinner with my dearie @ Causeway Point? Oh!! Sinful food but delicious, portion was too big that my dearie have to help me to finish them. , refer picture "Fish Brayani with Teh Tarrik" below:- Labels: Daily ~ 毎日何おします?, Feasting ~ 日本料理 主の恵みわたしたち有難いです!

11:47 PM My mobile phone shut down by its own lately and finally on Saturday, it die off. :(
And since my mobile contract was due to be renew, and that I had received SGD 30 voucher for Singtel mobile purchases, dearie decided to take the opportunity to purchase an advance birthday gift for me. And which phone did I choose? I had difficulty making decision at first as I wish to grab a flip phone similar to Japan phone but there isn't one that has good camera function, so I have to give up on that. And next was hesitating whether to grab HTC phone, but after further check on the phone, I decided to give up and finally decided to grab Sony Ericsson phone G900 model. And here is an overview of how the phone look like:- http://www.blogger.com/Specifications%20of%20the%20phone:-%20[click%20on%20the%20link]%20%3Ca%20href= Ericsson - Mobile phones - Overview - G900 General reasons for choosing it:- It has 5 mega pixel camera function, cool look of the phone, light in weight and compact in size.:P I'm missing my old phone Sony Ericsson K800i which has a good camera function and it still look good externally, perhaps the phone knows I'm changing new phone and decided to die off exactly the same day I choosen to purchase the new one. What a timing isn't? Infact the phone was still functioning ok up to the stage of trading in my old phone for the value of SGD 100, contract all signed but when the sales person off the phone and I need it to be on again to transfer some data which were save onto my phone memory, the phone can no longer able to turn on anymore. Oh, it die off immediately. So sad..and I can trade in the phone. Exact price of the phone w/o contract was told to be about SGD 698, after 2 years contract renewal, ended up paying SGD 208 after lessing of the voucher given too. What do you think of the price? Reasonable? I'm still trying to get use to the phone function which seems to be abit complicated..well I guess it takes awhile. Thank Dearie for being my phone sponsor and the advance birthday gift=) Labels: Shopping~買い物 主の恵みわたしたち有難いです!

How was my week thus far?
Thursday, August 21, 2008
11:47 PM On 20 Aug, Wednesday, meet up with Iku-chan & her husband to have dinner together and at the same time ask her to guide me on my Jap homework. Oh man! Getting tougher as days goes by. Meeting point was at Liang Court and what did we had? Japanese food? Yes, of couse. Its my favourite. But I did not bring along my camera that day hence did not take much picture, only picture of the food I had which is their famous Black Pig "free from stress" TonKatsu set. Taste of the food? The pork cutlet was indeed very tender & juicy as written on their menu but over all I think variety wise so so..maybe if we have more time to try others, shall then further comment again. What I had:- Our dining venue in Liang Court was as follows:- Location: Restaurant @ Tampopo 177 River Valley Road #01-23/24 Liang Court Shopping Center Singapore 179030 Contact no: 6338 3186 Fax no: 6336 2625 Website : http://www.cfc.com.sg Buses to reach: 32, 54, 195, 64, 123, 143 Nearest Mrt: Clarke Quay MRT Thanks Ken-chan for giving me a ride to bus stop =) Thanks both of their precious time in accompanying me that day. Lastly, before we depart, gave Iku-chan both Strawberry & Durian Ritz strudel which I bought them @ International Plaza. Really yummy, I was glad to hear that they like it and so does my dearie who is falling in love with the durian favor strudel, its really 100% durian filling. Apparently I did not take picture of it. Its really Nice nice! Thumbs up! For more of the pastries details, check out website below:- http://www.ritzapplestrudel.com/Strudel&Pastries.htm I simply love to recommended all nice and good food to all my friends. 10:44 PM Yeah! It's Weekend... Went to my Japanese lesson in the morning which started from 9am to 12 pm. Dearie came to fetch me from school and walk down to Plaza Singapura to purchase movie ticket and went for our lunch. What movie are we watching? Hmmm..a very Singaporean Movie.."Money No Enough 2" Which I find that its a funny yet realistic movie, truely agree with the content of the movie if you have watch them. Below is the trailer:- After our movie, we took bus to holland village for my favourite Japanese Bakery "Provence Bakery & Cafe" to have my favourite bread and bought extra for breakfast too. And we had a lovely dinner @ Holland Village Italian Restaurant by the name of "Amici Authentic Italian Restaurant" which I had been there once with Iku-chan before. Gorgeous ambience & food, thumbs up!! Dearie agreed with me too. Fotos taken below:- I had a great time with Dearie, his very first Saturday which do not require to go for NDP rehearsal le =) よかたですね! Back home after dinner, I was trying out making Matcha Ice-cream but unfortunately mission fail!!! Reason being, Green tea taste not there, perhaps too little green tea powder used, texture not smooth enough, was too sweet..if I happen to try the next round, I would have to reduce the amount of sugar as compare from the recipe provided. RECIPE : GREEN TEA ICE-CREAM Ingredients:- 1. 10g green tea powder 2. 90g granulated sugar 3. 3 egg yolks 4. 200ml of milk 5. 200 ml double cream Steps:- 1. Mix Green Tea powder with 2 tablespoons sugar. 2. In separate bowl, mix together the egg yolks and remaining sugar. 3. Pour the milk into a small pan and gently heat taking care not to let it boil(ideally the temperature of the milk should be 80 degrees). Remove from the heat and mix a few spoonfuls of the warm milk with the green tea powder and sugar in a small bowl. When you have a smooth paste, add it to the remaining milk in the pan. then gradually combine with the egg yolks and sugar mix. Leave to cool. 4. Lighly whip the cream and then add to the cold green tea milk mixture. 5. Transfer the mixture to a large container and put in the freezer. Pictures taken in the process of making the ice-cream:- Thats all for Saturday Update =) Labels: Daily ~ 毎日何おします?, Movie - 映画, 食べ物料理法 ~ Food Recipe 主の恵みわたしたち有難いです!

Friday, August 15, 2008
11:25 PM Today Women's Table tennis team enter into Finals in Olympics 2008. It was since 48 years ago that Singapore won medal in Olympics, shouldn't we give the Singapore team a round of plause? Hip Hip Hurray! The Lord Bless Singapore!! Below news extract from CNA:- BEIJING - A jubilant Singapore bagged its first Olympic medal in 48 years on Friday when its women's table tennis team made into the final of the team event by beating South Korea 3-2. It has been a long wait for the city state which last made the podium at the 1960 Rome Olympics when weightlifter Tan Howe Liang won silver - Singapore's only previous medal. "We will get a silver at least. I'm extremely satisfied and give my team full marks," said Singaporean coach Liu Guodong. "I feel that our mission has been accomplished because I treated today's match as a final. "Having worked as a coach in Singapore for two years, I'm very happy to have helped the country end its 48-year medal drought." Feng Tianwei was the heroine. She got the ball rolling with an 11-5, 11-5, 11-2 victory over Dang Ye-seo before world number six Li Jiawei lost to Kim Kyung-ah 5-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9. Li then paired with Wang Yue Gu, showing perfect teamwork to beat Kim and Park Mi-young 11-7, 11-6, 11-9 in the doubles. But Dang bounced back to crush an exhausted Wang 11-8, 14-12, 11-9. With the match tied at 2-2, Singapore's destiny fell to Feng, who displayed courage to beat a tenacious Park 11-7, 12-10, 3-11, 11-9. "I had to be patient and wait for opportunities to attack," said a relieved Feng. "When everyone was nervous at the last moment, staying calm was my advantage." Li added that it was a proud day for her. "After today's competition I hugged Feng Tianwei and cried. I have never cried after any victory before. But I cried because we led this team to victory and we have fulfilled Singapore's expectations of a medal." South Korean coach Hyun Jung-Hwa paid tribute to Singapore and said his side would now target bronze in the play-off. "It's pity that we lost, but we will try to get a bronze medal," she said. Singapore will face China in the final on Sunday, after China beat Hong Kong 3-0 in the semi-finals. Semi-final results: Singapore beat South Korea 3-2 Feng Tianwei (SIN) bt Dang Ye Seo (KOR) 11-5, 11-5, 11-2 Kim Kyung Ah (KOR) bt Li Jiawei (SIN) 5-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9 Wang Yuegu/Li Jiawei (SIN) bt Park Mi Young/Kim Kyung Ah (KOR) 11-7, 11-6, 11-9 Dang Ye Seo (KOR) bt Wang Yuegu (SIN) 11-8, 14-12, 11-9 Feng Tianwei (SIN) bt Park Mi Young (KOR) 11-7, 12-10, 3-11, 11-9.
