31 Aug 2010 which is last day of Aug 2010, also end of summer vacation for Hiroshi.

After work in the evening, took a train to Changi Airport to meet up with Yuko san, both of us were there to send off Hiroshi. His dad has to work so couldn't make it & my hubby was working too so only left with Yuko san & myself. Thank God that his flight time was 11.30pm via ANA so I can make it to the airport,we had dinner @ Crystal Jade, just simple Duck noodles for them while I had Wantan noodle. We were chatting away in the restaurant after eating, so much things to talk about such as how is life without his parents by his side, how's the school campus he lodge in & how does he settle his meals since Yuko san is not there to cook for him & besides; Eng learning topic is never a miss.

He is simply creative,asked Yuko san to make sentence by presenting 2 peanuts, 1 smaller than the other& Yuko san is to form a sentence by using "bigger & smaller", while I gave Yuko san chopsticks & pen, as she is to form sentence using "longer & shorter" and with the word "more than". it's about english lesson again!!!

Shortly an hour before he check in,we went to coffeebean to enjoy hot cup of coffee . And then to present him farewell gift: yakun kaya, cookie museum banana chocolate & brown rice cookies. Just hope he likes them all & good memory will stay in his mind for after having eaten all the yummies goodies from Singapore..
And then we shared a cab home, back home Zzzzzz...exhausted daily with my packed schedule but enjoyed!

Hope he have a safe trip back to Japan.

Dinner @ Triple 3, Meritus Mandarin Hotel Singapore

Today is the day Hubby first meet up with my dear friends, Yokomichi family.
Was glad that he managed to come along with me for dinner together with Hiroshi, Yuko san & her husband. It was indeed a good session chatting in the restaurant, best of all we enjoyed one another company, simply have so much to talk about that we did not notice that time just passed on. Most of our time spend in the restaurant was talking rather than eating, I know it's such a waste but we just couldn't help it. We barely eat the food, words to be said are countless for the day. And I can see that my Hubby had enjoyed himself talking to Hiroshi, communicating in English, and it was a good practice for Hiroshi too. But Hubby won't get to see Hiroshi again until either Hiroshi come to Singapore again or when we happen to visit Japan during our vacation. Below are some pictures taken on the day:

Dinner Venue: Triple 3 Meritus Mandarin Hotel
Rating of the food: 60% out of 100%
Service level: Poor
Buffet Price/person: S$86++ Dinner & Lunch @ S$76 ++

As a high end hotel, it is really so disappointing to see that their service was not up to the standard that it was suppose to be. To me, to enjoy good food, good service is not to be miss & for a customer to return to the restaurant again, it very much plays apart with your service atitude level to your guest so I strongly comment that they should do something to improve their service level, otherwise they can never obtain good comment about their restaurant & hotel giving bad reputation instead. It's really bad to have foreigners seeing such ugly service in a hotel restaurant too. Actions by them such as:-

(1) Dishes were clear without asking the guest if you still want the food.
(2) When food on the dishes were finished, it wasn't clear.
(3) Water was not refilled as it suppose to be.
(4) Staff did not pay attention to guest raising up hands for some request.
(5) Staff gave unhappy look when request to help us to snap a picture.
(6) Took a long time to have the bill given to us.

Moreover, given the price paid, we would have expect a better service given. Really sorry that I have to comment that but to see it that it is for the improvement of the restaurant & hotel.
That will be all for the comment about restaurant & hotel.

Overall, We are just glad that the meet up turns up fine & enjoyable. We look forward to see all of them again but sad to say that Hiroshi is returning back to Japan this coming Tuesday 31 Aug 2010 since his summer vacation is over & he has to return to school.

Although Hiroshi will be back to Japan, I do still look forward to continue to keep in touch with him & of course meeting up with Yuko san & her husband too. Would hope that I can provide more insights about Singapore to them by bringing them to nice eating places, unique places of Singapore & etc.

Was Shi Qing last day @ work on 26 Aug 2010 as she will be returning back to school after her internship with us. So sweet of her for had custom made these cup cakes carved with our names for us =) Hmm..although I said I wanted Patisier cake but she gave me this instead.. =P It was too nice that we didn't bear to eat them you know? Thanks lot for your thoughtfulness & all of these too! Thanks for help @ work too =) All the best in your studies @ School & shall catch up with you with a meal when there's opportunity =)

Farewell Lunch for Boss Seow Yen & Shi Qing 小妹

It's another post dated blog =)

This was farewell lunch for my boss & Intern Shi Qing was on 20 Aug 2010.
We went to have Japanese Ramen as requested by my boss, good thing managed to find a Ramen shop near our office within walking distance & best of all, at reasonable price with generous serving of Char siew. The details of the Ramen shop are as follows:-

Restaurant name: Kyo-Nichi Japanese Ramen

Venue: 20 Cross Street, #01-31/32/33 China Square Central

Business No.: 6327 3919

Apparently their Ramen is well known in the signature special collagen soup base but of course whether can you taste it or not? I really have no comment =) But then still, no harm giving it a try since it's reasonable price & generous serving. Check out pictures taken below:

Chinatown Night Out

Was a tiring day @ work today with another boiling blood issue!!! Errrr...the caller is just so #%#0# !!!!! Of course after all it's just a piece of work & I just need to pour it out so that I will not get high blood pleasure due to suppressed anger or something.

Thank God, after work Hubby came to wait for me at my office to accompany me to Chinatown to grab some stuff for giveaway. Prior to that, we had dinner @ Maxwell Food Center, it's been awhile since Hubby last came, so he's kind of having headache what to have for dinner. As for me, I just had a simple Teochew Fish ball minced meat Mee Pok, it's been sometime since I last had this too, can't even remember when?

Here's my dinner for the day:-

I even managed to grab 5pcs of sweet potato balls, was so yummy but I forgotten to snap a picture of it. After dinner, quickly walk to Chinatown street along the night market to grab my moon cakes which are for my Japanese friends. Thank God I was just on time for it as if I am later by a min, the shop would have already close & it will then waste my effort for making a trip here. Bought a total of 5 mintures mooncake from "Da Chong Guo", this mooncake shop has a total of 73 years in history @ Chinatown & they mooncakes are pretty yummy. I would said I still prefer the old traditional style mooncake! After this, while walking along the night market street, passed by German Sausage stall, craved for it hence bought one to share with Hubby & here's the picture of the stall & German Sausauge which has been stationed @ Chinatown for donkey years too:-

And then just before way to Train station, last stop of purchases was @ Bee Cheng Hiang BBQ meat stall. Bought quite a few items from this stall too & they are also meant to be gifts for my Japanese friends, hope they like it. Here's some of the purchases:-

These days, so many cute & nice creative mooncake style. Simply innovative! Will pass these to 2 of my Jap friends this Saturday, hope they like it & hope Hiroshi likes it too. Eventhough unsure if he ever had this before but thought that he can share it with his brother in Japan when he returns this 31 Aug 2010. The whole family are currently in Bali for a short trip, hope thay have a safe & enjoyable trip!

2 More days to go till weekend!! So looking forward at all times. . . .

Singapore Yoshinoya

After Church service on Sunday[日曜日で教会行った後], Hubby & me went to Takashimaya to have our lunch [と旦那さん、高島屋の吉野家で、昼ご飯を食べます。] @ Yoshinoya since we intend to grab something in Orchard. Below pictures show what we had in Yoshinoya which is Tamago Gyu don..taste is simply incomparable to what we had in Japan. I suggest to add in green spring onion which is called as "Negi" in japanese. It would have taste perfect with "Negi" [もし葱が入れて、多分もと美味しいです。] :-

美味しいお好み焼き

今日日本語レッスンの後『After my Japanese Lesson today』、クラスメートと昼ご飯を食べました。『I had lunch with my classmate.』

伊勢丹[Isetan] で、広嶋お好み焼きを食べました『We had Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki @ Isetan』、それは美味しい方ですよ『That was delicious!』。その時『During that moment』、写真も撮りました、下で見てください『I took some pictures, please take a look below』:-

食べた後『After eating』、スーパへ行きました『I went to Isetan Supermarket』。沢山振掛けと広嶋牡蛎味海苔を買ったんです『I bought lots of dried food used for sprinkle over rice & Hiroshima Oyster taste dried Seaweed』、美味しいか、どうか未だ解らないです『I'm not sure if that is delicious』、食べみます後、教えてね『I will let you know after I have try it 』。写真も撮りました、下で見てください.『Please see pictures below.』

何時もシンガポールで『At times in Singapore』、美味しい日本料理が有るので『For the reason that there are delicious Japanese food』、その時は幸せと思います『I will feel that I am so bless.』。

今日は、嬉しい方ですよ『I'm so happy today.』、又来週広嶋お好み焼きを食べたいです。『I would like to have Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki next week again.』
然して又広嶋へ行き度いです。。。『And I would like to visit Hiroshima again too.』

Tea Chapter & Singapore Eating places

Took time off today to accompany my Jap friend today. We walk down from Tanjong pagar all the way to Neil Road walking to Tea Chapter which is a well known Chinese Tea House. It's indeed a nice cosy place to seat down enjoy the tea & have some nice food plus enjoy the ambience there, like this place although it's the 2nd time I've been there. Recommended place to go indeed. Below are some pictures taken from the Tea Chapter, steps of brewing a pot of good tea:-

And after staying in the tea house to chat for 3 hours, we then depart from Neil road to China town just to see things & purchase moon cake from "Ta Cong Guo", and then walk down to Lat Pa Sat to have our dinner, simple but nice food we had together. Was glad Yuko san likes the food the places we had been too today. Below are food we taken for dinner:-

Hopefully her husband & Hiroshi able to have the opportunity to try out the food one of these days. Fruitful day spend together again! Thank the Lord! New words taught to Yuko san too as she is learning english, Yeah! Ganbatte ne Yuko san!

Outing with my New Jap Friends on 14 Aug 2010

A simple introduction on how I get to know these family from Japan. It all happened way back in Feb 2010 this year while I was alone @ Liang Court Starbucks doing on my Jap lesson homework, this Japanese couple was sitted right beside me chatting away and suddenly asked me if I had a pen to borrow them and at the same time saw that I was working on Japanese words so thought that I was a Japanese at that moment and we begin to chat & exchange for contact. And there after we did kept in touch by a few sms for later did not hear any news from them but who knows way back in week one of Aug 2010, they contacted me & asked if we can meet up for chit chat session. I was surprised that they contacted me again after months, and then did I realised that they had gone back to Japan & had just returned to Singapore 2 weeks ago. Was glad that I was remembered :) And this round, their younger son came along with them due to School summer vacation, he will be in Singapore for a month & my task was to teach him & communicate with him in English!! Haha...fun huh? We meet up on 6 Aug 2010 ! Isetan Orchard Mac Cafe, 3 of us juz sat there & chatted from 3 pm till about 7 pm, just simply so much to chat about..like culture, economy, language, work & others. Thank God that it was a fruitful talk & it was just nice after my Jap lesson @ Orchard so I can meet up with them.

And here comes our 3rd meet up where I brought them to Kranji Farm, was glad that they had enjoyed themselves & even the dinner @ Causeway Point Soup Restaurant & also I was glad that my 1st trial Marble Cheesecake was nice as I purposely made it to host them.
